During his duel against Bolger, text starts appearing on the Blackbird's screen over the top of the duel display, and there's a voice in his ear. A very familiar voice.
A voice that's tempting him into the idea of a dragon and, apparently, no ill side-effects.
Crow starts answering back, causing Bolger - and the others - to ask who he's talking to, because it isn't one of them.
His response? "God!" Yuusei and the others ask which god, because they personally know more than one on speaking terms. Crow has to elaborate - it's Aiapaec.
Aiapaec continues to tempt Crow with the idea of the dragon, at which point Crow asks why Aiapaec is talking to him from inside the D-Wheel in the first place. Aiapaec 'explains' that well, that's where the dragon is. So there's a part of him stuck in the Blackbird. But he could get it out... if Crow agreed to a little partnership.
It still takes a while, but eventually Crow gives in, and gains the Black Feather Dragon (GET) although in reference to the Dark Signers having Dark Synchros, BFD is one also, only being able to be summoned with a Dark Tuner.
The partnership Aiapaec was talking about boils down to: that's a part of his own power there, and it is also a symbol of himself. In this new world, he's basically chosen Crow to be his envoy in a way similar to how the Earthbound chose their Dark Signers, apart from how Crow - due to Aiapaec already being free and other shenanigans - doesn't have to be dead.
Although after this, Crow does admittedly start showing signs of what in any other case would be Psychic Duelling. Kiryu (whose abilities far outstrip a mere priest at this point) and Aki help him get the new power under control.
